this is us.

Bit by bit.

Things around here have been moving quickly - hard to believe it is already June. In a week or so, the hole for our house will be dug and the basement forms will be poured. From there, the house should just shoot up (at least from my perspective it does, I am sure the boys and their 14 hour days would disagree). It's hard to believe that we are at this point after over a year and a half of searching for land, buying land, and constantly thinking & planning the layout and building materials we will use for our home. My handyman has spent countless hours ensuring that we are getting the best prices and best materials and I have spent countless hours making sure it all "goes" :).

Our baby love is growing fast as it is apparently already 2lbs and 15 inches. It is definitely my child as it refuses to sit still! According to an online gender predictor quiz we have a 50% chance of having a boy and a 50% chance of having a girl - shocker!

Here I am at 26 weeks (6.5 months). On Christmas day, when we found out that we were going to be gifted with this little one, I remember thinking that I had FOREVER until it would be gracing us with its presence. 3ish months to go and I find myself sometimes hoping that the days would slow down a little so that we are sure we are as ready as possible (because are you ever really ready?). Bottom line is that we cannot wait to meet this tiny person and spend the rest of our lives doing everything we can to make sure he/she knows that nobody loves them like we do (even the pup will learn to love, I'm sure). There is so much to look forward to over the next 3 months, so many new experiences, a brand new house & life for us all - we are truly blessed beyond belief.

Here's to the next post being the start of our true Clarence Road Project.

Happy summer days!

30ish days and counting...

It has been a busy spring so far as our Clarence Road Project start date is about 30 days away. Once road restrictions are lifted by the local RM, the excavator can dig our hole and the concrete forms for the basement can be poured. With exception to a few details such as wall colours and the odd light here and there, most everything has selected and purchased. The apartment was starting to look a little like an episode of "Hoarders" until we were fortunate enough to obtain some storage at friends and parents homes.

With the house start date getting closer, our move in date is getting closer. With our move in date getting closer, so is another due date that seems to be approaching quicker than I can believe sometimes! I am 23 weeks now, which is more than half way there, and the baby is apparently about the length of a banana and weighs about 1 lbs! Here is a shot from my recent ultrasound...

Any guesses on whether or not we have a boy or a girl in there? I have been loving feeling its little movements and can't wait until we can put a name to this beautiful face.
