Steady progress

This weekend, in between downpours of rain, the boys were able to get the concrete forms poured, as well as the basement walls framed. Sheeting has also started!

Check out our house! (I feel like I can say that now as we definitely have more than acres and a hole)...

My handyman has also been busy getting us on the map with Canada Post...we have officially been assigned an address and are just waiting on getting word as to our box # before we start sending our mail Clarence Rd way...

I am now finished working for at least a year as I will be on holidays for the next 8 weeks or so and then maternity leave once the baby arrives. I am now 30 weeks pregnant and starting to realize just how close we are to growing our family by leaps and bounds.

Happy Summer!

Pallet Path

We are continually making progress, this weekend with concrete forms being built & rebar being fitted and tied. It has dried out somewhat, however patches of mud & water do still remain. In order to stay somewhat out of the mud, 'Pallet Path' was built to guide the way between the two homes...

We are so lucky to have our friends out there already who are gracious enough to let us use their driveway, bathroom, kitchen - the list goes on and on!

This picture isn't quite up to date as the forms are now complete and the rebar is ready for concrete which will happen sometime this week. Next will be basement walls!

Day One

We were lucky enough to truly get going this weekend on our Clarence Road Project. After a decently nice and somewhat dry Saturday, we are now the proud owners of 4 acres of land AND one hole.

As you can see, it is fairly muddy out there, but won't be for long once we get going & there is an actual house to stand in! All in all it was a super productive day with no issues or surprises. Here's hoping that is the theme for the next 3 months both with the house and the baby on the way!
