He's so advanced.

Well, it's hard to believe but one month ago today, our little man was born & our lives were changed forever. Over the past month, he has changed and grown so much already. SO much that I want time to stop for just a second to make sure that I soak up all this newborn awesomeness. Of course, there are parts of me that would like to move past a few of the stages we are in right now, but I just keep telling myself that in about 10 years I will be desperate for him to need me as much as he needs me right now.

As Grandma Wedlake would say, our guy is VERY advanced. He holds his head up very well and tracks objects & noises with so much curiosity. Here he is "reading" his favourite book...

Happy Fall!

2 Weeks

On our little man's 2 week birthday we did two things - saw the doctor for the first time, and got our picture taken. Here are a few of my favorites...

We couldn't love him more.

All the love in the universe

We have been settling in to this new life around here...slowly but surely. Our little man is growing fast and getting bigger every day. At his 2 week doctors appointment this morning he weighed in at 8lbs 8oz - a long way from his birth weight already!

On the house front, progress has slowed but we have had a few major changes even since our family of 2 became 3. The countertops were installed last week and they are beautiful! We are thrilled with how they look and it has really made a difference in the overall feel of the house.

It was also my handyman's 28th birthday this past week. We celebrated with some friends at our new house with our new man...couldn't have been better.

Since bringing our little man home, our family really has been filled with all the love in the universe and we could not be happier. My handyman sent me this link the other day to something he saw online. I love it...click here and watch the video.

A lot of Firsts...

We have now been home for 3 days and are starting to get our groove back around here. Sadly, my handyman is back to school tomorrow so that will be another adjustment. I am so glad that our little man came at least a few days before school started so that we could enjoy some time as a new family before the reality of life sets in.

And now for the firsts...

First bath - wasn't the most popular, but we made it through.

First visit with the 2 existing Clarence Road boys. (Our little man is the 3rd of 5 boys that will soon inhabit the houses on Clarence)

First trip to Home Depot.

First trip to the dog park...something the puppy desperately needed.

First nap with Daddy - somehow I think this may be a regular Sunday occurrence around here.

Hard to believe that our little man is almost a week old - life would never be the same without him already.

Perfect Timing

It is amazing how life's timing can sometimes work out so perfectly. With a completed house (for now at least :)) and Hydro "pushed" our little man arrived with perfect timing at 9:57 p.m. on September 1st - his due date. It was quite the journey for us to get here and this stage of our Clarence Road Project but now that we are here, we could not be happier.

So far the one thing we know for sure about out little man is that he is prompt & does not dilly-dally. My first contraction came at 5:51 p.m. on September 1st (his due date) and he was born at 9:57 p.m that same day. One of the nurses commented that we maybe come to the hospital with the first contraction during any further births! It was definitely a LOT quicker than I thought it would go but there was no slowing down this boy!

First picture after a bath...

The 1st love of my life meeting the new man...

Hard to believe it has been 3 years since Mr.Trooper was this small - our little man makes Swee Girl look huge as well!

Now that we are home we are settling in and getting to know each other over here. Our little man has been so loved & welcomed by so many amazing friends and family already - he is truly blessed to have so many people that love him already!

More house & baby updates soon!

Happiest days are here on Clarence Road.
